Privacy Policy
Last updated: 14 June 2026
Skills Link Namibia (“Skills Link”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) operates www.skillslink-nam.com (the “Platform”). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. By using the Platform, you agree to the practices described here.
We take privacy seriously. Because we verify the people on our Platform, we collect sensitive documents such as identity documents and police clearance certificates. We treat this information with the care it deserves.
1. Who this policy applies to
This policy applies to two groups of users:
- Clients — people who use the Platform to find and hire service providers.
- Service Providers — skilled tradespeople (such as plumbers, electricians, and domestic workers) who list their services on the Platform.
2. What information we collect
Information all users provide:
- Name and contact details (email address, phone number)
- Account login credentials
- Location or area within the Khomas Region
- Messages you send through the Platform
Additional information Service Providers provide for verification:
- A copy of a valid national identity document or passport
- A police clearance certificate
- Proof of skills, qualifications, or trade certification (where applicable)
- Subscription and payment details for the N$100 monthly fee
Information we collect automatically:
- Basic technical data such as device type, browser, and IP address
- How you use the Platform, to help us improve it
3. Why we collect it
We use your information to:
- Create and manage your account
- Verify the identity and background of Service Providers — the core trust promise of our Platform
- Connect Clients with verified Service Providers
- Process the monthly subscription fee for Service Providers
- Communicate with you about your account, bookings, and enquiries
- Keep the Platform safe and prevent fraud or misuse
- Comply with any legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
4. How we share information
We share information only as needed to run the Platform:
- Between users: When a Client and Service Provider connect, certain details are shared so the job can go ahead. Clients can see that a provider is verified, but do not see the underlying identity or police clearance documents.
- Service providers we rely on: We may use trusted third parties for hosting, payment processing, and similar services. They may only use your data to provide those services to us.
- Legal reasons: We may disclose information where required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
5. How we protect your information
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including restricted access to verification documents and secure storage. Verification documents (IDs and police clearances) are seen only by authorised Skills Link staff for the purpose of verification. They are never shown publicly on your profile.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we are required to keep certain records for legal or fraud-prevention reasons.
7. Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct information that is wrong or out of date
- Ask us to delete your account and personal information
- Withdraw consent for non-essential uses of your data
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.
8. Children
The Platform is intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top. Significant changes will be communicated through the Platform.
